General Terms for Projects in South Africa

By accepting this proposal, you formally appoint Anja Lehne Interior Design to carry out the services outlined.


Scope of Services

Services may include concept development, spatial planning, sourcing, procurement, coordination, and project support. The exact scope is defined in the individual proposal.


Fees & Payment

Fees are charged either as a fixed fee or on a time basis, as outlined in the proposal. Interim payments may be required in line with the progress of the project.

Orders will only be placed once full payment or the agreed deposit has been received.

Budgets & Estimates

All budgets and cost estimates are provided as a guideline only. Prices may vary due to supplier pricing, exchange rates, availability, and customisation.

All international pricing may be subject to exchange rate fluctuations.

You will be informed should any significant deviations arise.

Approval & Orders

All items, materials, and designs approved by the client are considered confirmed and will be ordered accordingly.

Most items are custom-made, made-to-order, or individually sourced. By approving any item, the client confirms acceptance of its custom nature.

For this reason, no cancellations, returns, or refunds are possible once an order has been placed.

Procurement & Third Parties

Products are sourced from a range of local and international suppliers. Anja Lehne Interior Design acts as intermediary in the procurement process.

We do not manufacture products ourselves and therefore cannot accept liability for:

  • production delays

  • manufacturing defects

  • variations in material, colour, or finish

All warranties are subject to the respective supplier’s terms.

Logistics, Shipping & Import

Where applicable, logistics, shipping, and import services are coordinated on behalf of the client.

This may include:

  • international transport

  • customs clearance

  • import duties and taxes

  • local delivery and installation

Please note:

  • Shipping timelines are estimates and may be affected by external factors beyond our control (customs, port delays, transport issues).

  • Import duties, VAT, and additional charges are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed.

  • Costs related to storage, demurrage, or delays caused by third parties may arise and will be charged accordingly.

Risk transfers to the client upon delivery to the project site or as defined by the respective supplier or logistics partner.

Local Conditions

Designing and executing projects in South Africa requires flexibility due to varying availability of materials, production standards, and supply chains.

Minor deviations from original specifications may occur and are considered part of the process.


Liability

While all services are carried out with the utmost care, liability is limited to cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

No liability is accepted for third-party services, suppliers, contractors, or logistics providers.


Intelectual Property

All designs, concepts, drawings, and documents remain the intellectual property of Anja Lehne Interior Design.
